Hi All, So my laptop was working fine until about a week ago, when I went to Malaysia and used the hotel wifi. Since then, I have been unable to connect to random websites - including google search results (google.com comes up fine, but when I search for something, it stays stuck on resolving host), facebook, and a few other sites - they seem to be mostly ones with a https but some http sites are stuck as well. I've scanned with MSE, Malwarebytes and Spybot and nothing has come up. I've tried loading the affected sites in IE and Firefox and they won't load. I've flushed the DNS cache, I've disabled IP6, I've tried setting DNS servers to google's, all to no avail. Hoping someone can help me! I'm on a Windows 7 laptop, everything is updated as far as I can tell. Thanks in advance, Kish. Download mp3 aladdin a whole new world. Maybe your Internet browser is configured to use a proxy to access the web. To verify that in Internet Explorer, go on your settings in Internet Explorer, choose Internet Options, click on the Connections tab, then click on the LAN settings button. Make sure that only the option 'Automatically detect settings' is checked and click on OK. If you are still unable to access the web with Internet Explorer after thatopen a command prompt by typing 'cmd' in your Start Menu in the search field and type 'ping google.com' in the command prompt. Is it returning always timed out when pinging google.com? Please can someone help me! I am now back home in Germany and still having the same problem. All other devices are connecting to my home wifi and working without problems. ![]() My laptop - some sites work, some don't - and this is the case across all browsers (chrome, ie and firefox). I've flushed the dns, tried changing dns servers to google/opendns, checked the hosts file, done a complete power cycle on the router and the laptop, set up a different user, all to no avail. At the moment the only thing that works is rebooting into safe mode with networking. I can't do a restore because the only restore point i have is one made after all the problems started.
